The Gospel In One Page

In the beginning, God (The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit) created the world, and all that is in it. He made Adam and Eve in His image, giving them dominion over creation and perfect fellowship with Him (Genesis 1:26-27). However, through their disobedience, sin entered the world, corrupting all of humanity, and bringing the penalty of spiritual and physical death (Romans 5:12, Romans 6:23, James 1:15). Humans became utterly incapable of doing or choosing what is acceptable to God apart from divine grace, and making us subject to His wrath (Romans 3:23, John 3:36).

No one is righteous, and no amount of human effort can restore us to God (Romans 3:10-12, Ephesians 2:8-9, Isaiah 64:6). The law, given through Moses, reveals our sin but cannot save us (Galatians 3:24, Romans 3:20). In our helpless state, God, in His love and mercy, sent The Son Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man, to redeem us (John 3:16, Philippians 2:6-8, Colossians 2:9). Jesus lived a sinless life (something we can’t do), perfectly fulfilling the law, and willingly became our substitute and took the punishment for our sins by dying on the cross (2 Corinthians 5:21, 1 Peter 2:24, Hebrews 4:15, Isaiah 53:5-6).

On the third day, He rose from the dead, defeating sin and death, proving His victory and divine nature (1 Corinthians 15:3-4, Romans 4:25, Matthew 28:6, Revelation 1:18). Now, salvation is offered freely to all who repent and believe in Jesus Christ (Mark 1:15, Acts 16:31, Acts 2:38, John 6:40). Those who repent, believe in Him and receive Him, trusting in His finished work, are forgiven, justified by faith (not works), sanctified, adopted as children of God, and receive eternal life (Romans 5:1, John 1:12, Romans 8, Titus 3:5-7, Ephesians 1:5, John 10:28-29).

Regeneration is a supernatural act of the Holy Spirit that imparts divine nature and life, transforming the believer, and bringing spiritual renewal and new life (Titus 3:5; 2 Corinthians 5:17). It occurs instantaneously by the Holy Spirit’s power, through the Word of God (John 3:5; 1 Peter 1:23). Regeneration involves being born again, where the believer moves from spiritual death to life, receiving the capacity to live according to God’s will (Ephesians 2:5; Romans 6:4). Genuine regeneration is evidenced by repentance, faith, and righteous living, where one’s desires and actions begin to reflect the nature of Christ (1 John 2:29; Galatians 5:22-23). An example of this is the desire to be baptised in water.

Sanctification is the transformative work of God's grace in a believer’s life, where they are progressively set apart for holiness and God's purposes. Sanctification begins with the believer's union with Christ, where Jesus becomes the source of righteousness and holiness (1 Corinthians 1:30). Sanctification is both a positional reality that is immediate, as believers are declared holy in Christ, and a progressive journey, marked by a continuous renewal of the mind and a growing conformity to the image of Christ (1 Thessalonians 5:23, 1 Corinthians 6:11, Romans 12:2, 2 Corinthians 3:18, Hebrews 10:14).

Jesus will return to judge the living and the dead, bringing final restoration for His people and eternal punishment for the unrepentant (Acts 17:31, Revelation 21:1-4, Matthew 25:31-46, 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9). The gospel calls us to turn from sin, cling to Jesus Christ’s finished work, and live for Him, secure in His eternal promise (Hebrews 10:23, Colossians 3:1-4). It’s the true story of a God who redeems the unredeemable, offering life to the lost. Therefore, repent and believe (2 Corinthians 6:2, Romans 10:9-10).
