What is Gospel Recovery?
The Gospel Recovery Trust is a registered New Zealand charitable trust. The trust provides resources for Gospel Recovery Groups to share the gospel as found in The Holy Bible. We believe that the studying and following of Scripture alone is sufficient for freedom from addiction. That although eradication of sin is not possible in this life, that The Holy Spirit does provide for victory over sin.
What does Gospel Recovery do?
The trust’s primary purpose is to share the gospel as described in The Holy Bible and summarised in the Gospel Recovery Trust’s statements of faith (short and long form), to people so that they might have: freedom from addiction, victory over sin (victory provided by The Holy Spirit), and salvation and eternal life provided by God (The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit).
The trust will also donate funds to other gospel sharing / Bible teaching organisations, or addiction detoxification / withdrawal management organisations
How does Gospel Recovery do this?
The Gospel Recovery Trust provides resources for those who wish to set up Gospel Recovery Groups. Groups are independent and autonomous, where people can gather to share the gospel and the suggested process so that others might have: freedom from addiction, victory over sin (victory provided by The Holy Spirit), and salvation and eternal life provided by God (The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit).
Who is welcome to attend a Gospel Recovery Group?
Anyone is welcome to attend a Gospel Recovery Group, so long as:
a. they have a desire for freedom from addiction through the gospel as described in The Holy Bible and summarised in the Gospel Recovery statements of faith, or
b. a desire for victory over sin (victory provided by The Holy Spirit), or
c. a desire for salvation and eternal life provided by God (The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit), or
d. a desire to help others achieve these through the sharing of the gospel and the Word of God found in The Holy Bible
What is the gospel?
The gospel is the good news that Jesus Christ, through His life, death, and resurrection, offers forgiveness of sins and eternal life to all who repent and believe in Him
